Tick tock, tick tock goes the clock!

Deadlines, appointments, trips and age have something in common, and that is time! We use the phrases “my time ran out”, I don’t have enough time”, “Where did the time go” and “Time flies”

Nowadays, time waits for no one, this year flew by. We are embarking on another New Year 2019. We must recognize that time is a valuable resource that allows each of us to attribute importance to it. No one can take it from us and we can’t give it away, it belongs to us. We can make use of it or waste it. No matter how you decide to use the amount of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years it is your responsibility to use until you cease to exist.

Alan Lakein said “Time equals life; therefore, waste your time and waste your life, or master your time and master your life.”

I have read some very good time management, strategies, tips and styles, however, the success came when I actually used them. I had to overcome the time wasters. They are the things that don’t yield a benefit, first is procrastination, second is being unorganized and lastly, interruptions. There are other time wasters to beware of, phones, emails and social media.

Take time during the last few days of this year to decide what 2019 will look like for you. Only you can give importance to the distractions that make you unproductive. However, Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Time is something we must all be conscious of because life means busy. Executives, parents, children, and everyone in between need time management techniques. You are the only one that can make time a valuable resource. Decide how you want to intentionally spend the time you are given in 2019.
